A Dream Years in the Making
For years, our coaches and athletes dreamed of having a foam pit and inground trench bar — equipment that would allow gymnasts to safely learn new skills, take bigger risks, and grow faster than ever before.
That dream became a reality thanks to the generosity of our local sponsors, the hard work of our community, and the dedication of everyone who believed in what Western Stars Gymnastics could become.
The construction process was a major undertaking — involving excavation, concrete work, custom framing, and careful installation of specialized gymnastics equipment. Here is a look at how it all came together.
How We Built It
From planning to grand opening — the full story of our construction project.

Planning & Fundraising
Before a single shovel hit the ground, months of planning, fundraising, and community outreach made this project possible. Our board worked tirelessly to secure sponsorships and donations that would fund the full build.

Excavation & Concrete
The first major step was excavating the gym floor to create the pit cavity. Diaz Concrete & Stones led the concrete work, ensuring a solid, level foundation for both the foam pit and the inground Tumble Trak.

Framing
With the pit dug and concrete poured, the framing and structural work began. The team carefully constructed the subfloor structure inside the pit to support the equipment installation ahead.

Equipment Installation
The foam pit liner, bar systems, and inground Tumble Trak were carefully installed by our team. Every component was chosen for safety, durability, and the long-term development of our athletes.

Grand Opening
After months of hard work, the new equipment was ready for athletes. Gymnasts of all levels now have access to world-class training tools right here in Williston, North Dakota.
